Russia has unveiled the âPosokh,â a portable, ytterbium-based laser air defense system capable of disabling Ukrainian drones within a 2 km range using invisible laser beams. The announcement follows successful tests and comes as Russia escalates airstrikes on Ukraine. On July 28, a drone and missile barrage hit Kyiv, injuring eight civilians, including a child. The Darnytskyi district was among the hardest hit. With 324 drones launched overnight, Ukraineâs air defenses are under mounting pressure amid ongoing conflict.
